We have all been stuck in the house for an absurd amount of time and I’m sure many of you are going stir crazy. Well, let me add insult to injury. Go watch “History 101”.
Have you ever wondered how China went from a third-world country to one of the most stable and successful countries in the world? Did you even know China was considered a third-world country at some point? Did you know there is a vast stretch of ocean not too far off the coast of California that is filled with trash? It has a name and everything. Do you know what sparked the “Space Race”?
These are the questions that will be answered in this series AND the episodes are only 20 minutes long so you can binge it in a short amount of time. Now, I do realize that those with anxiety may have some reservations about watching this show, but it doesn’t harp too hard on the fact that some of these topics involve the possibility of people dying. Not the greatest topic for the time but I found the whole series fascinating. I’m also a nerd so I’m bias.
Other topics include plastics, feminism, robots, oil and the Middle East and nuclear power. Many of these topics we’ve learned about in school but the way they explain these topics is not how I remember it in high school.
If you’re a nerd like me, this is your type of show. “History 101” is on Netflix right now and can be finished in about ten “Spongebob” episodes.
