The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Trailer Review

I want to start this review by saying what I don’t want to see. You know how you watch an action sequence that lasts just a tad too long? The kind of scene that makes you go, “Let’s move on.” That is what I don’t want to see. I don’t need unnecessarily long fight sequences because we can. Love to see them, don’t need them to be ten minutes long.

So, has anyone had the thought of why Bucky and Falcon need to be a team? From the first couple of seconds of the trailer, I looks like, for some reason, Bucky and Falcon have been enlisted to do something from someone other than the United States government. Why do I say that? Two reasons. Wyatt Russell, son of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, plays John Walker, a U.S. agent we can see in a Captain America outfit high fiving a guy in the band at a football game. Seems as though the government has chosen their new Captain America and just negated the fact that Cap gave the shield to Falcon. Also, when Cap when underground and against the Sokovia Accords, he was on the government’s most wanted list. Sure, the government would want to keep tabs on Falcon and the Winter Soldier but I don’t think they would need them if they named a new Cap unless they named a new Cap because of something they did wrong.

It seems as though the dynamic between the two will be hostile at first and evolve into a relationship where they have to trust each other. Seems like they will be vying for the “Who was the Best Best Friend of Cap” championship. I don’t need to see much of this either. Would love to know what brings Sharon Carter into the mix and how she will be able to us the boys in her mission. There have also been some theories about Skrulls showing their face in this series or at least someone talking about them. If you look closely, it looks like there is a wall of Skrull heads in that night club. I think introducing Skrulls again in this series wouldn’t be the greatest move unless done well.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier debuts March 5th on Disney+, which is after the season finale of WandaVision.
