“It” Returns

If you know me, you know I LOVE a horror film, hunnie, and this is IT (no pun intended but let’s go with it)!

It: Chapter Two takes us back to the small town of Derry, Maine where apparently Pennywise is still terrorizing small children. If you’ll recall, 27 years ago these brave, loser (they call themselves that) kids battle the crazy, lonely dancing clown after Bill, who will be played by my fave James McAvoy, loses his brother because Pennywise takes him down the drain. Chapter Two starts 27 years later with the gang returning to Derry. It’s not clear from this trailer why the gang returns but I would assume that it would be to destroy Pennywise once and for all. In the trailer, we see grown Beverly Marsh, played by Jessica Chastain, wonder back to her childhood home where currently a creepy old lady lives. As the trailer progresses, the creepy old lady becomes even more peculiar than she appears. I’ve read some articles where people say that the old lady was a Pennywise disguise but in the picture Marsh is looking at there was a little girl in the picture with him. Could he have someone working with him? Is she a child of Pennywise? Was she one of the kids who was taken by Pennywise back when he first started kidnapping children?

I have a bunch of questions! How do we defeat Pennywise? Is he weakness adults? Also, how will they see him when only children can see him or will they change the rules because he’s seen them before? I also want to know what will go wrong? Will someone die? Here’s another random question I have, that I feel someone asked in the first one: How does Pennywise survive those 20 or so years he’s in hiding? Is he making his next plan and that’s why we don’t see him from this extended amount of time? Is he eating the children? Does anyone else have these same questions or is it just me?

My prediction is Pennywise and Beverly Marsh have some unfinished business which is why she has the most prominent person in the trailer. Maybe she has to make a sacrifice like Tony Stark in Endgame. What I need to see is a better flushed out back story of Pennywise. We got a few hints in the first chapter but I feel like we’re missing something. Maybe I’m the only one who feels this way but there’s got to be more.

We will have to wait until September 6, 2019 to find out and I will be back center (because who sits that close to the screen? Who wants to crane their neck for two hours?) opening night.
